Fun with friends...

A visit from the Mattilas!

A week ago we were so lucky to have our friends, the Mattila's, stay with us for a night during their visit to Colorado. Molly, Derek, Tate and Avarie came out from Virginia to see their family and we were able to catch up with them for a little while. Tate just turned 4 and Avarie is 7 weeks older than the twins. The kids played while we reminisced, we had a great dinner at the Ale House and they were off the next morning to Denver for the last leg of their trip. We miss them already!

Moab, UT!

Yesterday Jeff and I were able to steal away for the afternoon and join some friends on a Harley ride to Moab, Utah. It's about an hour and a half ride through some very beautiful country (if you take the scenic highway vs. the interstate). As you can see from the pic below the red rocks/cliffs are similar to those in Lake Powell. Moab is known for "jeeping" and 4-wheeling or mountain biking. We ate lunch at the Moab Brewery and made it home in time to put the twins to bed. We had a great time! We say we need to do that stuff more often but time just seems to fly by too quickly.

Oh, I am so jealous of your Moab trip! It sounds like super fun. We've been trying to plan something like that for the past 3 years, LOL!! We were just talking about how much fun it would be last week. We're considering a jeep ride with or without our two. (don't think it's a great shoulder idea right now, tho.)It's crazy how much scheduling has to occur to make these things happen now-a-days!! :-)
